Dene Magna School

Who are we?

We are an inclusive 11-16 secondary school located in the West of England. We are proud to be a National Teaching School.

What do we do?

As a teaching school, we work with an alliance of local schools in primary, secondary and post 16 education to ensure that we provide the highest quality learning for our young people and teachers. We support a range of schools; using our teaching school role to further develop CPD for all of our alliance members. We train new teachers and find innovative, accessible ways of helping people into teaching.

We host visits from teachers and pedagogical leaders from other countries and work alongside DNi VSKO in leading CPD events across Europe.

What can we do for you?

Alongside the LINPILCARE project, we can work with you to develop a Reflective Practitioner Programme; coaching in school; also co-construction of learning with students.

We can host training for staff and use our alliance to support others.

What do we stand for?

We work to ensure that all members of a school community are learners. We strive to make sure that teachers are reflective in their practice and that they see the power of working alongside others to achieve a goal.

Our contribution to the project:

We act as a ‘laboratory’ for the project. As we work in many innovative ways, we are using the project to try to enhance how we develop professional learning communities and the amount of research that teachers access and use to inform their practice. We seek to enable all teachers to use evidence informed learning as their preferred method of CPD.
